On February 7, 2019 at about 7:35 p.m.
Officers responded to the 1200 block of Montana Avenue regarding an assault with a deadly weapon that just occurred. The reporting party described the suspect and continued to follow the subject until officers arrived. Officers located the subject in the 700 block of Alley 13 and detained him for an investigation. Officer learned the reporting party/victim was walking along the 1300 block of Montana Avenue with a friend. The suspect was walking towards them and for unknown reasons stated that he was going to stab them. As the subject said that, he was possibly holding a knife and made multiple slashing motions. The victims fled out of fear of being stabbed and called the police. A search of the subject led to the recovery of two pairs of scissors. The subject was taken into custody. Gregory Shalom McKnight, 47, homeless, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and a probation violation. He was denied bail.

  1. This guy was screaming at me on Broadway and 7th. Stating “Go back where you came from! You don’t belong here” he followed me for a couple streets screaming. It was 1pm in daylight. I live close and usually feel safe in my neighborhood. But he scared me! Police, Please keep our neighborhood safe?❤️?
