On November 6, 2018 at about 10:34 p.m., Santa Monica Police Department officers responded to a call for service of an assault with a deadly weapon in the area of 7th Street and Montana Avenue. Officers learned a man was sitting at a table outside of a Starbucks at 701 Montana Avenue when unprovoked, a man approached him holding a pair of scissors. The suspect pointed the scissors at the victim and made a slashing motion towards the victim’s neck before walking away. The victim was not injured.
Francisco Lazaro Arrieta, 49, was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon. His bail is set at $30,000.
