While conducting a periodic check at Reed Park – 1150 Lincoln Blvd – officers saw a male subject loitering about the park in violation of the park closure ordinance.   Officers walked over to the subject. As they were walking, the subject advanced towards the officers and began yelling at them.   The subject was agitated and did not want to cooperate with officers. Officers attempted to detain the subject. As they attempted to gain control of the subject, officers discovered he had a folding knife concealed in his waistband. The subject continued to resist. Following a struggle, officers took the subject to the ground and were able to take the subject into custody. Eric Shaun Oliver, 52, from Los Angeles, was arrested for being in the park after closure, resisting arrest and possession of a knife. Bail was set at $25,000.
