On September 6, at about 3:51 p.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service regarding a burglary in progress. The reporting party observed a male subject break into an apartment. When officers arrived, they observed a possible suspect in the apartment complex. Officers conducted a search of the subject and recovered methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia and an identification card in the name of another person. An investigation of the property led to officers noticing signs of forced entry to the apartment. The subject was taken into custody. Beaty Yielding Upton, 23, homeless, was arrested for burglary, possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotics paraphernalia; and misappropriation of lost property. Bail was set at $20,000.
