On August 8, at about 11:34 a.m.

Officers responded to a radio call for service at CVS – 1411 Lincoln Blvd – regarding a petty theft involving a male subject threatening employees. When officers arrived, the subject was confronted in the store parking lot. As officers attempted to detain the subject, the subject fled from the officers. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody. Officers learned the suspect entered the store and selected various items from the sales floor and placed them in a shopping cart. The suspect was yelling and acting strangely. The subject opened a wine bottle and drank from it. The subject threatened the employees. The subject left the shopping cart behind and walked out store wearing a pair of sunglasses he did not pay for. The suspect grabbed a metal pole from the parking lot. An officer confronted the suspect and ordered him to stop. The subject fled from the officer. The suspect was taken into custody. Alfuseni Conateh, 34, from Los Angeles was arrested for robbery, brandishing a deadly weapon and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $50,000.
