Someone in Santa Monica is much richer after buying a ticket for the June 2 Mega Millions lottery drawing and winning $697,111.
The winning ticket was sold at Osko’s Mobil, which is located at 731 Santa Monica Blvd. It matched the numbers 2, 11, 22, 9, 23, missing only the Mega Number 12.
The California Lottery urges the winner to immediately sign the back of his/her ticket in ink, keep it in a safe place and visit any of the nine Lottery District Offices during business hours as soon as possible. The winner has 180 days from the date of the draw to claim this prize. Otherwise the money will be redirected to help California public schools.
Mega Millions is played in California (and 43 other states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8: p.m. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers or one of the more than 4,000 Lottery Lucky Retailers.
This “mystery” winner should try and stay as much of a mystery as possible. Getting big-time, mega-celebrity publicity is often the worst mistake that winners make. Anyway, if you’re interested, I have made up a little free and just-for-fun webpage which generates your own personal “Quick Pick” numbers. Who knows, it could work – you just never know your luck… As I say, it is completely free and just a bit of fun, so look out for VillaLibra Lucky Numbers if you want to check it for yourself.
