On Jan. 29, officers responded to Rite Aid, located at 1331 Wilshire Blvd., for a shoplifting suspect.

The Rite Aid employee detained the man outside the store and notified the SMPD. Recovered from the man were 13 various colors of Maybelline mascara worth over $100.

Officers placed the man under arrest for shoplifting and transported him to the SMPD jail. Alex Barlow, of Los Angeles, had bail set at $500.
