Editor:

I was down at the beach yesterday and noticed the cost to park a car is now $10.

I thought of how elitist this is. What, only the well-to-do can park at the beach? I saw car loads of younger kids turning around because they couldn’t afford to park their cars.

Shouldn’t everyone be able to afford to use one of our greatest natural resources? When did enjoying a day at the beach become so cost-prohibitive? Is Santa Monica so money strapped that they have to gouge people parking at the beach?

I thought it was outrageous, and wondered if there might be a story here.

Perhaps Jack Neworth could write an article?

Love his weekly column.
