The Pacific Wheel on the Santa Monica Pier has been named one of the “world’s coolest Ferris wheels” by Travel + Leisure magazine.
Other wheels mentioned by the magazine are the Big O in Tokyo, the Texas Star in Dallas, the London Eye, and others. The wheel was highlighted for being solar-powered and for offering a “fantastic LED light show made possible by 160,000 energy-efficient LED lights that cover the wheel,” according to Travel + Leisure’s website.
