Bill Bauer is usually the voice of reason, but here he’s lost in the trees and can’t see the forest (“Fan of the new Miramar,” My Write, March 4). The proposed Miramar is simply too tall. With the other proposed Ocean Avenue towers we are on the verge of turning Santa Monica into Miami Beach. These buildings should be scaled down.

I propose we tear down the Promenade and build some 10 story (at least) buildings there. Think of how many more shops we can have…think of how much more money for Santa Monica…money, money, money… could get quite a few pockets lined with that idea!
(I hope you all recognize the ugly…and it IS ugly…sarcasm here?). Unfortunately, to those making these decisions for us, money is the ONLY thing that matters, so all logic falls on deaf ears…
