Not only will a new AMC bring “significant” traffic Downtown, as the article (“AMC theatre to bring traffic to Downtown,” Nov. 2) on the EIR says, but according to an L.A. Times story the same day — “AMC leaves moviegoers in the dark on change to rewards” by David Lazarus — AMC has changed its credits program and “is no longer rewarding people who keep coming to the movies.” Can you say rip-off? But it also was just bought by a Chinese conglomerate for $2.6 billion.

They already run three of the four theaters Downtown. How about rejecting congested corporate google-plexes and supporting our local, friendly Laemmle and the always enlightening Aero?
