VENICE — Pacifica Christian blew past Newbury Park Adventist, 30-0, Wednesday in the wild card round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 7 baseball playoffs at North Venice Little League.

The game was called after five innings sending Pacifica Christian on to the first round to face North County Christian on Friday on the road.

Pacifica Christian finished the regular season as the second place team in the Heritage League.

St. Monica softball sent packing

St. Monica’s softball team was eliminated in the wild card round of the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs, 1-0, by Marymount on Tuesday at Memorial Park.

St. Monica finishes the season with a 12-11 overall record.
