Samohi tries to stay unbeaten in league

Samohi softball hosts rival Culver City today as the Vikings try to remain undefeated in Ocean League play.

The game begins at 3:15 p.m. at Memorial Park, Santa Monica High School’s home field.

Samohi (4-0) has not lost a league game in recent memory, with the streak spanning at least nine seasons, according to school officials. The Vikings’ dominance in league has given them 10 consecutive titles, with nine coming under Head Coach Debbie Skaggs.

Outside of league, Samohi has struggled a bit this season with a 7-11 overall record. But, the Vikings traditionally take on a difficult non-league schedule to prepare for their now annual drive for a league pennant.
