Those who shop at Vons and Pavilions during the month of April can help locals with disabilities by raising money for Easter Seals.
At every check-out counter customers will be given the option of making a donation to Easter Seals, the leading nonprofit of services for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, physical and mental disabilities and other special needs, according to a press release.
“Easter Seals Southern California has seen first-hand the positive impact of the money raised by Vons and Pavilions stores in the last seven years of this campaign for people with disabilities,” said Mark Whitley, chief executive officer of Easter Seals Southern California. “With a continuing difficult economy and more state cuts for services to people with disabilities across California, their financial support is as important as ever.”
Last year’s People With Disabilities campaign raised over $1 million in support of Easter Seals Southern California.
“Vons is a proud employer of many associates with disabilities and we want to ensure the good work of Easter Seals continues in this challenging economy,” said Lori Raya, president of Vons. “We also know that Easter Seals Southern California consistently ranks among the most-efficient charities at serving people with disabilities. We are proud to support their efforts in our community.”
Vons in Santa Monica is located at 710 Broadway, while the Pavilions is located at 820 Montana Ave.
