CITYWIDE — A pair of players from Pacifica Christian and one from St. Monica were named to the All-CIF-Southern Section basketball teams, it was announced this week.

Pacifica Christian was represented by freshman Danielle Preston on the Division 5A girls’ team and senior JR Walker was named to the boys team, also in the same division.

Walker helped lead the Seawolves to the third round of the playoffs before being eliminated by Malibu Kilpatrick.

Preston and company advanced to the second round of the playoffs where Rolling Hills Prep knocked them out.

Across town, St. Monica’s Briana Harris, a junior, was placed on the Division 4A squad.

The honor for Harris isn’t the first for the power forward. She was named Most Valuable Player in the Camino Real League after leading the team with 22.5 points a game. She also grabbed 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 3.5 steals a contest.

Behind Harris, St. Monica made it to the third round of the playoffs where they lost to nearby Brentwood.
