SAMOHI — A pair of losses over the weekend has Santa Monica High School’s boys’ basketball team on the rebound.

After suffering the first loss of the Ocean League season to rival Inglewood on Friday, the Vikings followed that up with a loss to a highly-regarded Alemany team on Saturday as part of the Fairfax State Preview Classic.

The road loss to Inglewood puts Samohi in a flat-footed tie atop the league with the Sentinels. Both teams are 5-1.

This week features a pair of league games at home for the Vikings. Up first is a tilt against Culver City on Wednesday. That will be followed by a clash with Beverly Hills on Friday. Both games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

With those losses, Samohi slipped to No. 7 in CIF-Southern Section Division 1AA. The Vikings had been ranked No. 5 for the better part of a month.
