Parking Structure 6, located at 1431 Second St., is set to be demolished this March. The structure will close on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 12:01 a.m.
The rebuilt structure will have over 700 spaces, almost double the current amount of spaces, as well as offering environmental improvements.
The community is invited to a public meeting regarding the construction, which will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Ken Edwards Center on 1527 Fourth St. The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m.
Staff from different Santa Monica offices, including Finance, Architecture Services and the police, will be available to answer questions about the upcoming construction, including parking and noise concerns.
Construction on the parking structure is expected to be complete in late 2013. For more information, visit www.smconstructs.org/ps6
