Flashlights, radios and energy bars make great stocking stuffers, according to City Hall, so why not show family and friends how much you care about them this season by giving emergency preparedness supplies as holiday gifts?
On Saturday, City Hall’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will host the second One Stop Prep Shop for emergency preparedness at the Santa Monica Main Public Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd. This event provides an opportunity for those who live, work, and play in Santa Monica to get prepared for emergencies in a fast and convenient way.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., local vendors Fisher Lumber, REI, the Emergency Café, SOS Survival Products, and the American Red Cross of Santa Monica will be on hand selling emergency preparedness supplies in the Main Library courtyard.
City officials said they wanted to make it easy as possible for people to be prepared. Public safety officials encourage everyone to have seven days’ worth of supplies at home, at work, and in their cars.
