Main Street merchants are rolling out the red carpet this Thursday for “Fashion’s Night Out,” a worldwide event created in 2009 to celebrate fashion and restore consumer confidence during the recession.

Twenty-five businesses along Main Street will be celebrating with parties and deals all night.

This year the Vogue fashion boutique Uroborus (2407 Main St.) celebrates with a fashion party from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. While there, be sure to pick up a free raffle ticket. Uroborus, known for its European flair, will be giving away more than $1,500 in clothes and gift certificates.

Refreshments, sangria, appetizers and sweets will also be served along with other special offers. Owner and in-house designer Gigi Clark is excited to participate in this year’s event.

“Fashion transcends borders, this is why ‘Fashion’s Night Out’ has become such a popular worldwide event,” Clark said.

Stop in to see the fall style preview runway show at 8 p.m. in the New Orleans Building courtyard (2665 Main St.) presented by Agabhumi the Best of Bali and Monkie. Manager of Agabhumi, Christina Norton, said, “We want to remind people that it’s fun and affordable to get dressed up.”

Other highlights are: Arm Candy Handbag Boutique (2717 Main St.) offers a DJ, wine, cheese, and giveaways all night. Enjoy a trunk show with jewelry designer Kyle Chan at Mindfulnest (2711 Main St.). Varga (2714 Main St.) offers champagne, strawberries. Closet (2708 Main St.) celebrates the grand opening of their new Santa Monica location with appetizers, drinks, music, gift bags and a photo booth.

Even Eyes on Main (3110 Main St.) is getting into the act with a storewide sale, refreshments and treats. “Eye glasses are the first thing you see when you look at someone,” Even Eyes owner Susie Sykes said. “They should be the most fashionable thing you own.”

For every purchase at participating businesses, attendees will be eligible to enter for a grand prize Main Street shopping spree valued at over $500.
