Another year, another Los Angeles Area Emmy Award for Santa Monica’s CityTV.

It’s CityTV’s 11th Emmy win and the second time in a row the public access station won the Public Service Announcement (PSA) category. The PSA for the Toy Loan Program, which was created in association with Los Angeles County, was produced as part of the Women in Film Public Service Announcement Production Program.

This is the third year for the program partnership, and its first Emmy win.

“The program provides non-profits with powerful PSAs to help raise public awareness of their cause, and it also [gives] aspiring women directors, producers and writers the opportunity to expand their skill set while giving back to the community,” said CityTV Station Manager Robin Gee.

The Toy Loan Program PSA can be viewed on www.citytv.org.

This fall, CityTV will be offering new programming on its life-long learning channel, Forte Channel 99, that will allow viewers to earn college credits through Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Forte will broadcast almost 10 hours of live interactive programming each week during the fall, and viewers may be able to participate in on-air discussion with university faculty and guests by calling in during the broadcast via toll-free hotlines and sending text messages on the Internet. A complete schedule of programming can be found at www.citytv.org. Some classes include “Introduction to Public Relations,” “Jazz in the Modern Era,” and “Introduction to Marine Life.”
