Santa Monica-based Meals on Wheels West, which provides food and services for those confined to their home because of a disability, has a chance to win a free car from Toyota as part of the car company’s “100 Cars for Good” program.
Meals on Wheels currently has no vehicle for the local chapter, said RoseMary Regalbuto, president and CEO. Services are provided using available volunteer and staff vehicles, which can be difficult to find when needed.
“[Winning a new car] will allow Meals on Wheels West’s clients to always have their daily nutrition, go to doctor appointments, smile on holidays, have necessary furniture and appliances, and have friendship and hope,” Regalbuto said.
To win, the nonprofit needs your help. Cast a vote on Toyota’s Facebook page, facebook.com/toyota. Visitors to the page can vote once a day for the organization that they feel is most deserving. Make sure to log on and vote on May 28 for Meals on Wheels. Those who have a Facebook account can opt to be reminded to vote on that date.
