SAMOHI — Santa Monica High School’s Moriah Faulk was named to the All-CIF-Southern Section Division 1AA girls’ basketball team, it was announced on Wednesday.

The senior, who committed to play for UCLA next season, was selected after helping lead the Samohi Vikings to the semi-finals of the CIF-SS Division 1AA playoffs early this month.

Faulk averaged 13.7 points for the Vikings this season. Faulk was key in a stunning upset of national powerhouse Long Beach Poly in this year’s playoffs, scoring 15 points against the vaunted Jackrabbits.

The selection to the All-CIF-SS team was just the latest honor for the shooting guard.

Faulk was joined by senior point guard Kristina “KJ” Johnson on the All-Ocean League first team. Fellow senior Bianka Balthazar was named to the second team. The Vikings ended the season second in league.
