It is open to filmmakers ages 12 to 18 and will accept any film in any genre from 30 seconds to 30 minutes in length. This year the festival is partnering with the California Preservation Foundation’s Short Film Contest for youth and will award a special prize in the new “Conservancy” category. The festival is sponsored by the city of Santa Monica, including the Cultural Affairs Division, the Santa Monica Public Library Teen Program, the Virginia Avenue Park Teen Center, and City TV. In addition to the opportunity of having a film seen by a panel of professionals and a live audience, all entries will compete for awards and prizes, including a live audience choice award presented after each screening session.
Submission is free. Admission is free.
