Santa Monica High School’s football team takes the field tonight at Santa Monica College’s Corsair Field against Hawthorne in the Ocean League finale with a possible wild card CIF-SS playoff bid on the line.
Samohi is 2-2 (5-4 overall) in league play, good for third place. The Ocean League receives two automatic berths with first place Inglewood and second place Beverly Hills already qualified. Traditionally, a third team from the league has been selected, but there are no guarantees for the Vikings.
Hawthorne is 0-4 in league and 1-8 overall.
The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
