The Santa Monica Community College District is looking to appoint a member to the Personnel Commission. The appointment term is Dec. 1, 2010 — Dec. 1, 2013. Deadline to apply is Oct. 21.

The SMC Personnel Commission is a public body responsible for the administration of the college’s Merit System, a civil service system for classified employees.

To qualify for appointment to the commission the applicant must:

• Be a registered voter and resident of the Santa Monica Community College District.

• Support the concept of employment, continuance in employment, in-service promotional opportunities and other related matters on the basis of merit and fitness.

Applications can be obtained from the college’s Office of the Board of Trustees or by calling (310) 434-4402, and should be submitted online at www.smc.edu/jobs.

The Board of Trustees will review all applications and make the final appointment.
