It may seem like a misprint, but the Pacifica Christian Seawolves obliterated Weaver, 32-3, during the first round of the CIF-SS Division 7 playoffs on Thursday at North Venice Little League.
“Everyone hit the ball,” Pacifica Head Coach Julian Chavez said. “We just had one of those days.”
The team advances to take on Temecula Prep in the second round on the road Tuesday.
Temecula Prep is a total mystery to Chavez, but he likes his team’s chances following such a burst on offense.
The teams share no common opponents and Chavez is scrambling to find out what he can about a team that finished the regular season in second place in the Majestic League.
While he doesn’t know what to expect from the team’s round two foe, Chavez said he knows exactly what his side needs to do if it is to advance.
“Everybody needs to contribute,” he said. “We need everybody to do all the small things right.”
For Pacifica’s Kevin Hammer, he just wants to face a team with a little gumption.
“We haven’t played a team that has given us a fight in a while,” Hammer said. “We just have to come out strong.”
