On the heels of announcing the addition of a new and improved Disney Store, Santa Monica Place is adding nine more stores to the mix of nearly 60 retailers and restaurants already scheduled to open.
The new additions cover every floor of the shopping center, slated to open Aug. 6. Ever, Kenneth Cole, and Ugo Cafe will call the mall’s first floor home. Disney, Charlotte Russe, Hot Topic, Skechers, Bertini and Gallini are scheduled to open on the second floor. On the third level Dining Deck, Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt will be joining the six chef-driven restaurants already signed.
“Retailers are extremely enthusiastic about Santa Monica Place and the vibrant community of people who live, work and visit here,” said Anne Singleton, vice president of leasing for Macerich, the company that owns the mall. “We are especially pleased with the list of local, national and regional names … that continue to reflect the interesting, balanced retail mix we are creating for this property.”
Bertini is one of the locally-based retailers, offering men’s and women’s shoes and accessories. Ever and Gallini also add more of a local touch to the shopping center, as Ever is an L.A.-based store and Gallini is a Santa Monica retailer.
Ever is a celebrity favorite which offers travel collections for men and women, and Gallini features men’s clothing and furnishings. Another local addition, Ugo Cafe, is a popular Italian Cafe located in Culver City.
Some of the less local retailers are: Charlotte Russe, a fashion-forward retailer for young women; Hot Topic, a teen clothing and accessories store; Skechers, which will specialize in the brand’s Shape-ups toning footwear; and Kenneth Cole, known for men’s and women’s clothing, shoes and accessories.
Other retail attractions already slated to open include a new Bloomingdale’s and a new Nordstrom, plus a growing roster of specialty stores including Barneys Co-op, Burberry, Kitson, Nike, and Love Culture.
