Residents over the age of 50 will soon have more resources made available to them, thanks to a joint effort by the Life Long Learning Older Adult Task Force and City Hall.

The two have teamed up to provide a four-part series of free seminars designed to address key issues facing those over the age of 50. Local and national experts will be featured at the monthly seminars.

The first seminar, which will be held Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium of the Main Library, will focus on women and retirement. National retirement expert Helen Davis, who co-wrote “Project Renewment,” will lead the seminar.

The remaining seminars, which will occur on Feb. 25, March 27 and April 28, will cover community care options, how to care for an adult with dementia or physical health problems and how to enrich one’s later life.

The meetings will be held at the main branch of the Santa Monica Public Library.
