The Venice Family Clinic is determined to get everyone at risk for swine flu vaccinated, regardless of their financial situation.

High-risk individuals are defined as pregnant women, anyone age 6 months through 24 years, people living with or caring for infants less than 6 months old, people 25 to 64 years with certain chronic medical conditions or weakened immune system and health care workers.

The vaccine is available for free at two locations, four days a week. Funding and vaccines are provided by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the county to provide this important service to our community,” said the clinic’s medical director Dr. Karen Lamp. “The public should have confidence that the vaccine is safe and necessary.”

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the clinic’s Simms/Mann Health and Wellness Center, located at 2509 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica, is open from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On Thursdays, the clinic’s Milken Family Foundation Medical Building, located at 604 Rose Ave. in Venice, is open during the same hours.

On Dec. 5, Dec. 19 and Jan. 16 (all Saturdays), the Venice location is open from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

On Dec. 12 and Jan. 9 (all Saturdays), the Santa Monica location is open from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The program is scheduled to run through the middle of January. Visit www.venicefamilyclinic.org for more information.
