PICO NEIGHBORHOOD — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a car used in a drive-by-shooting Tuesday night, hoping that information leads to those responsible for the attack.

SMPD Lt. P.J. Guido said two people — one male adult and one male juvenile — ran into Wine Barrel Liquor in the 2100 block of Pico Boulevard around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday seeking shelter after several shots were fired in their direction.

Witnesses inside the liquor store told officers they heard several gunshots but did not see who was responsible.

Before officers could arrive, the alleged victims fled the liquor store. Officers searched local hospitals but could find no patients being treated for gunshot wounds, leaving officers to believe the two targeted were unharmed.

Guido said a vehicle was seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting occurred. It was described as a silver colored car. There was no further description.

Anyone with information is asked to call the SMPD at (310) 395-9931.
