NEW ROADS — After beginning the season 0-6, the Jaguars baseball team has pieced together a two-game winning streak.

The most recent victory came against Chatworth’s Sierra Canyon High School. New Roads won the road game, 5-4.

Max Chilkov paced the offense, going two-for-four and scoring a pair of runs. He also stole a base in the winning effort. Anthony Carrillo tossed four innings of shutout ball, notching seven strikeouts.

Next up for New Roads is the Vasquez Tournament, which begins April 11.

Crossroads begins strong

The Roadrunners baseball has amassed an impressive 7-1 record, with the most recent victory coming Thursday against Vistamar.

Crossroads pitchers have allowed just two earned runs in the previous three games.

Following spring break, the Roadrunners will return to action April 6 at the Santa Ynez. tournament.

Samohi baseball routed

The Vikings appear to have fallen on hard times. After a 3-0 start, Samohi has lost four of five with the most recent loss coming at Palos Verdes Peninsula Thursday. The Vikings lost the road game, 0-8.

The Vikings have scored just three runs during the past three games combined. Peninsula jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Peninsula’s starting pitcher, Christian Torres, tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits.

With the loss, Samohi’s record falls to 4-4. Next up for the Vikings is Mira Costa at home today. The game is a part of the Redondo Tournament.

Slide continues for St. Monica

The Mariners baseball team continued its current slide with a 2-5 loss to Grace Brethren on Thursday.

The loss is St. Monica’s fourth in a row after starting the season 3-1.
