SAMOHI — Santa Monica’s boys’ volleyball team may have slipped a bit since opening the season ranked No. 1 in CIF-Southern Section Division 4, but they haven’t tumbled too far.

The Vikings sit at No. 4 in the latest poll, it was announced on Monday.

The defending champs in the division have the next two weeks off for spring break, but will resume Ocean League play on April 17 at rival Culver City.

Cross-town Crossroads is listed among three teams not ranked, but included on the poll as “others,” which are schools poised to enter the top 10.

San Gabriel, the team Samohi beat last year to win the championship, is also listed among the others.

Crossroads softball ranked

Crossroads’ softball team maintains its No. 9 ranking in the latest CIF-SS Division 7 poll, it was announced this week.

They are currently off for spring break, but will resume play on April 10 at Marlborough.

New Roads alone in baseball poll

New Roads has the distinction of being the only Santa Monica-based baseball team ranked by the CIF-SS.

The Jaguars are ranked No. 6 in the latest Division 7 poll released this week.

New Roads returns to action following spring break against Buckley on April 11. They are 6-3 overall and 2-0 in Coastal League play.
