“A loving, joyous celebration of growing up with Don Knotts, TIED UP IN KNOTTS humorously reveals the joys and sorrows of Karen Knotts’ life as she discovers her true talents,” says The Tolucan Times. Actress, singer, comedian, clown, magician, puppeteer and ventriloquist Karen Knotts, daughter of comedic American acting genius Don Knotts, shares on life, love and growing up with a famous dad (and The Andy Griffith Show) revealing how that influenced her own life choices and her struggle for self identity. Daniel devise of the Washington Post calls it “… a moving, soulful and finely polished performance. Karen held the audience in thrall,” he says, and continues, I’ve never seen so many grown men reach for their hankies.” Join Karen for an exciting journey with a host of zany characters thrown into the mix as she blends humor with touching insight into a Hollywood way of life. During her colorful career, Karen has performed in numerous plays with her fabulous dad, playing everything from a prostitute in “Norman, Is That You?” to a prude in “Mind with the Dirty Man.” Written and performed by Karen Knotts. Directed by Anderson Gabrych. co-director of the satirical documentary “Bright Day,” author of “Detective Comics,” “Out West” and “Dirty Laundry (CD)” and a member of ‘Sit N Spin’ where he performs regularly on the Comedy Central stage. Associate Director is screenwriter, playwright, & lighting designer Joe Coddington. Produced by T.U.I.K. Productions. One night only – proceeds benefit the Save the Santa Monica Playhouse campaign.
