Blue Seven Gallery is presenting a show of paintings, photography, posters and sculpture that depict the variety and ambivalent nature of weapons. Gallery artists along with visiting artists exhibit original artwork which reveals weapons re-imagined into peaceful implements, and how benign items have a dark side.
Originally the reception was Saturday June 8 which was the day after the shootings in Santa Monica near the gallery along Pico Boulevard and at the college. The gallery has decided to schedule a second reception June 29th and extend the run of the show because the theme is very related to the gunman’s rampage. In fact, one prescient gallery artist - Timothy Kitz - had created a picture of the same type of weapon used by the gunman.
