Las Posadas is the novena of preparation for the feast of the nativity, a Hispanic tradition in which the community gathers every night on the nine evenings before Christmas with a re-enactment and short play (presented by children) of Joseph and mary visiting the inn (homes) to ask for a place to stay. This year, the Tri-Parish communities of Santa Monica will celebrate the Novena at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 17, at St. Clement’s Catholic Church; Tuesday, December 18, at St. Anne Church and Shrine; and Wednesday, December 19, at St. Monica Catholic Community.
