DOWNTOWN — Wendy S. Jacobs was named the chief executive officer of the American Red Cross of Santa Monica, it was announced Friday.
Prior to her appointment, Jacobs was the deputy executive director and chief development officer of Heading Home, a homeless services agency in Boston. Jacobs’ first major mission in Santa Monica is the Red Cross’ annual fundraiser the Red Tie Affair on April 21.
“I’m so grateful for the warm welcome that both the American Red Cross and the Santa Monica community have extended to me,” Jacobs said.
Jacobs succeeds John Pacheco, who retired Jan. 2 after working 35 years for the Red Cross in the Los Angeles area. Jacobs’ appointment begins immediately.
