PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY — The city of Malibu received approval for more than $14 million in grant funds for improvements to Pacific Coast Highway and other intersections, city officials said this week.

Awarded by the Los Angeles County Metro Transit Authority, the grant will include funding for bike lane improvements and will allow the city to conduct necessary projects tied with the Pacific Coast Highway Safety Study.

This is all due to the passing of Measure R in 2008. Measure R, a half-cent sales tax increase, commits up to $40 billion toward traffic relief and transportation upgrades throughout the county over the next 30 years.
